Just a quick note to all our blog friends... as we were getting on the elevator this evening (Thurs Evening) to go back to our room, our guide, Alison, stopped to tell us some interesting news.
Evidently, there was a passenger on our flight from Beijing that contracted the swine flu. Had the Chinese government known this earlier, we would have been quarantined for 7 days (ending this coming Saturday). At this point, we are scheduled to depart for Guangzhou tomorrow evening (6pm) unless something related to this issue causes us to be delayed. This wouldn't just slow us down 1 day, but would potentially cause a domino effect: we'd miss our medical appt for Addie on Saturday morning, which would delay our consolate appt on Monday, which would keep us from being able to come home on Wednesday... Not good to say the least.
God is in control and we're all believing there will be no further effects from this news. If you would, say a quick prayer for our travel group that we would not have any problems leaving Nanchang tomorrow. We'll keep you posted, too.

Wow that is awful that someone contracted the swine flu and how very scary for everyone on that plane including you all. I did say a prayer not only for your travel plans but for your health. I hope everyone on that plane continues to be heathly and for the one who is in bad health I pray that he/she returns to good health very soon.

If the passenger had symptoms that many days ago, they should know by now if it is swine flu. Hopefully, they didn't have it and it won't effect anyone else on the flight in terms of health or travel plans.
